Infinite Industries launched an upcycled Beehive Box winning Gold at the SAPRO (South African Plastics Recycling Organisation) as well as an upcycled foosball table winning silver at the same awards.

About the Products

The Beehive Box:
SAPRO Gold winner for Best Recycled Product of the Year in the Agriculture sector.

Infinite Industries, a pioneering force in sustainable innovation, is proud to announce the launch of our Beehive Box, a revolutionary upcycling solution that transforms difficult-to-recycle multi-laminate plastic waste that could have ended up in landfill into a waterproof, UV-stable, beehive.

Tested for over a year by a renowned beekeeper and honey producer, the Infinite Industries Beehive Box was instantly accepted by the bees. Studies over the year showed that the insulation provided by the upcycled, non-toxic, food-grade plastic boards kept the bees cooler in summer and warmer in winter resulting in less stress on the swarm and higher honey productivity.

Key Features

• Eco-Friendly:

Made from 100% difficult-to-recycle multi-laminate plastic waste, the boards the Beehive Box is made from consist of 50% post-consumer multi-laminate waste, and 50% post-industrial multi-laminate waste.

• Durable & Long-Lasting:

The Beehive Box is waterproof, rot-proof, honey badger and termite resistant and provides a safe haven for bees.

• Bee Keeper Friendly:

The Beehive Box provides beekeepers with an easy-to-move, stable hive enabling them to move bees to fresh foraging, away from danger if necessary and to areas that require pollinating.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Beehive Box as part of our commitment to creating a more sustainable future, for pollinators and for the environment at large” says Maggie Bozic Infante CEO of Infinite Industries.

Fighting Plastic Waste with Innovation
South Africa generates approximately 8 million tons of plastic waste every year, where as much as 14% to 18% would have ended up in landfills, oceans, and natural environments if it weren’t for Infinite Industries.

Currently the only recycling company in Africa to recycle multi-laminate plastics Infinite Industries works to create a circular economy for plastic waste, turning it into waterproof, rust-proof, UV stable, non-toxic, material that can be pressed into varying board thicknesses (suitable for roofing, buildings, tiling etc), moulded items (school desks, dustbins, planters, beehives etc) or laser cut (interior design, signage etc).

The possibilities are infinite.
